Ashly and Keith

I remember the story of little Fiona at my parents' wedding, many years ago.

Fiona was the very young flower girl and fulfilled all her duties admirably during the ceremonies.   But at the end of the day, she kicked up a fuss because she didn't understand why she couldn't go along on the honeymoon!

Little Emma, Ashly's young daughter, reminded me of Fiona, albeit some decades later.  Like Fiona, Emma and her fellow flowergirls happily tossed yellow petals on the aisle floor at the Faith Lutheran Church in Machester for the bride to walk over during the processional.  Sticking close to her Mom and to Keith throughout the day, first at the church and then at the Ballwin Golf Club for the reception, Emma was involved in many parts of the celebration.  But when it came time for the wedded couple to leave for the day, poor Emma didn't quite get why she couldn't go along.  As John Fogarty sings, it was deja vu all over again!

Fortunately, Grandma was around and was set to entertain the young lady overnight and then while the happy couple honeymooned in Jamaica.  So now I know what my duties will be as grandfatherhood approaches...

Ashly and Keith and the attending crowd had a wonderful wedding and fun, raucous reception.   Congratulations to you both and thanks for allowing us to be a part of it!
