Renee bridal portraits

I'm proud to say that my beautiful daughter Renee Cadzow married her long-time love Luke Crane on December 29, 2007, in Ashboro, North Carolina.

Renee and I shot these bridal portraits way back on Thanksgiving weekend at the Peralynna Manor in Columbia, Maryland, but because, of course, Luke was not allowed see the dress before the ceremony, we couldn't post these images before now.

It's the tradition in this part of the world to display the bridal portrait at the reception immediately following the ceremony -- this one was a large, framed 20 X 30 portrait and seemed to be well accepted by those who saw it (including the bride, thank goodness!)

However, as Renee correctly pointed out, I couldn't be IN the ceremony and take the images of the wedding as well. So we left that job in the able hands of Cara Galata, our photographer friend from Raleigh, NC. It's funny how quickly you forget the business end of photography when the bride is your daughter and you start asking the perennial question... "when will the photos be ready??".

In any event, the wedding was a wonderfully moving occasion for us all and we could not be any happier with her choice of a husband. Welcome to the family Luke (and, remember... we have you on film).

And, Renee -- I thank you from the bottom of my heart for the honor of shooting your bridal portrait. Love you, li'l darlin'. :)
