Anisha and Hannfried's wedding was a very interesting study in contrasts. While Anisha was from a colorful and energetic Indian family, Hannfried's side of the family was from Germany -- in fact some of the guests flew in from Germany specifically for the event -- and were dressed in traditional dark tuxedos.
Their reception was held at the fabulously opulant National Museum of Women in the Arts, in uptown Washington DC. Helping out my friends at Labor of Love, I only attended the reception -- the Lutheran ceremony had been held earlier at one of DC's wonderful cathedrals and now people were ready to celebrate and party.

It didn't take long for Anisha's family to be up and dancing to some traditional Indian music and the spectacle was colorful and exotic.

Later, however, the music suddenly changed to such tunes as "Dar Kommisar" and "99 red ballons" and Hannfriend's friends and family were cutting loose. It didn't take long for the two families to bond and the dance floor was full and active.

The color and the contrasts made for some great imagery and people had a wonderful time. So thanks, Anisha and Hannfried, for allowing us to be part of your big day and of this perfect bonding of cultures!
